Instructions

Step 1
Soak Dates in boiling hot water and bicardonate soda.

Mix together butter and demerara sugar.

Add remaining Ingredients and mix until combined.

Add the soaking data mixture and stir until just combined.

Decant cake mixture into a baking tray

Bake @ 160 C (fan) for 30 minutes or until cooked through.

Mix the remaining butter, soft brown sugar and milk in a saucepan and cooked for 3 minutes.

Cool the topping slightly, before spreading over the cooked cake.

Allow to cool and set, then slice into 16 individual squares. Serve and ENJOY!
